Deborah James, Flute

 

Deborah James has 40 years of experience as a private flute teacher.  She has been the flute instructor at Salve Regina University since 1984, working with individual flutists and directing the Salve Flute Ensemble.  She also has been teaching private lessons at Wakefield Music in South Kingstown since 2011, and for the past 20 years has been the resident flute instructor for the Scituate R.I. music department, teaching at the Scituate Middle/High School.  Deborah is a 15 year member of the American Band based in R.I. and was the founder and director of the adult flute ensemble PIPEDREAM during its tenure of 1994-2007.

 

Annual grant work for the music departments of the Bristol/Warren and Middletown school systems round out her teaching commitments during the school year.  She is a graduate of U.R.I. with advanced course work at New England Conservatory.
