Matthew Kiepert, Guitar

Matthew Kiepert first started playing guitar at age ten. He began private lessons and shortly after began studies in guitar and jazz improvisation at the Rivers School of Music in Weston Massachusetts. He also began studies at Walnut Hill School for the Arts and New England Conservatory’s youth jazz program. At New York University Matthew received his bachelors degree while studying with the likes of Ben Allison, Bruce Arnold and George Garzone.

Matthew has taught for 10+ years, both privately and for various organizations. He has worked on writing scores for documentaries and films, but his main passion lies with the guitar. He has taught all skill levels and all ages. Although he places an emphasis on jazz theory and
improvisation, Matt enjoys playing an teaching all styles such as rock, funk and ambient.
