Michael Scott, Cello
Michael Scott began his musical education at age 6 on piano, learning on his own at age 8, started trumpet at age 10, and finally found the cello at age 14. He was classically trained on both piano and cello and self-taught on guitar. He has been teaching ever since he moved to Rhode Island in 2013, including launching several new music education classes.
His performance credits include Florida Young Artist's Orchestra (trumpet days), Edgewater High School Orchestra, Florida State University Orchestra, as well as many chamber groups, pit orchestras for musicals and operas, and studio work for a few small bands.
Michael has an appreciation for many different genres of music, and believes that anyone can find something to enjoy in learning an instruments - it only takes working with and applying one's strengths.
