Jeff Brackett - All Brass, All Woodwind and Beginner Guitar

 

Jeff Brackett is a veteran music educator with 40 years of teaching experience.  He is recently retired from the Bristol-Warren Regional School District, where he taught at the Kickemuit Middle School and directed the concert and jazz bands, and led guitar classes.  Mr. Brackett’s performing ensembles have consistently received superior and gold medal ratings at music festivals throughout New England. He was the founder of the Rhode Island Music Educators Association Junior Jazz Festival, which he hosted for many years. He has also taught in New York and Maine.

He received his music education degree from the prestigious Crane School of Music, State University of New York at Potsdam. He continued his education by completing graduate courses at The Hartt School of Music, Duquesne University, Providence College, Rhode Island College and the University of Rhode Island.  He has been honored as “Teacher of The Year” and was the recipient of the Horace Mann Crystal Apple Award for “Excellence in Education.”

Jeff has performed throughout the United States and Canada in various types of groups ranging from symphony orchestras to jazz bands and brass ensembles. He also performed at the White House in Washington, DC and at the Olympic Games (twice!) He is most proud of the numerous students that he has taught who have gone on to pursue a career in music.

Jeff teaches all brass and woodwind band instruments, as well as beginner guitar.
